Rank higher on Google in the towns you serve.
Jacob Henning gets small businesses ranked higher on Google, with a page for each town they serve and a plan driven by search data.
Book Free ConsultationHow does a small business rank higher on Google?
With a page for each search its customers make, and steady work on the pages closest to the top. Google ranks each page for the search it answers best, so one page about everything ranks for little. Jacob Henning builds a page for each service in each town a business serves, then uses Google’s own search data to lift the pages nearest the top.
A page made for each search.
Customers search for one service in one place, like drain cleaning in Roseville. Search data shows which of those searches come up most for your work, and each gets a page that answers it: the service, the town, a starting price and how to book.

Clogged drains cleared the same day, from $149.
A plan run on your search data.
Search Console, Google’s free report for site owners, shows every search your pages appear for and where each ranks. The plan works from it, month by month.

Pages just off the first page of results are improved first, since they have the shortest climb.
A page for each missed search
A search your customers make with no page to answer it gets one.
Your say in the plan
A new service or a town you want work from moves to the top of the list.
Every page tracked
Each page’s clicks and place in the results are tracked, so the effort goes where it moves the most.
Ranked on the map and in the results.
A local search on Google shows two sets of results, and each is ranked on its own.
On the map
The pins at the top come from Google Business Profiles. Google orders them by how well each matches the search, how close it is and how well known it is, reviews included. Your profile lists the services and towns your pages cover.
In the results
Under the map, Google ranks web pages, each for the search it answers best. Your site has a page for each service in each town, so every search has a page of yours to rank.
How long does it take to rank higher on Google?
Most pages climb over a few months. Google has to find a page, read it and test it against the pages already ranking. Its own guide says some changes show in hours and others take several months, and suggests waiting a few weeks before judging one.
Search Console shows the climb as it happens: the searches each page appears for and its average position, week by week. The quickest gains come from pages already close to the first page.
Do I need a separate page for each town I serve?
Yes, for each town you want work from. Google matches a search like roof repair in Lincoln to the page that answers it best, and a page about Lincoln answers it better than a list of twelve towns.
Each town page has to say something true of that town. Google’s spam policies treat near-copies made for each city as doorway pages, and those rank poorly or not at all.
